At the corner of Sixth and Market
Where the taxis run all the day
I saw you waiting on the bench
And I waved as you walked away
In the eye's desire and relentless wants
Where the screaming oaks bend and sway
I saw the corner of reflected haste
And I waved as you walked away
Seems love remains forgotten
Before it even knew
I begged the memories to last
So I'd remember you
At the place where passion knows
In the cities that close after dark
I saw you through these tear-filled eyes
And all the world grew stark
In the living pain and senseless hurt
Where the blood of life pulses on
I felt the love we never knew
In a heart that still beats strong
Seems love remains forgotten
Before it even knew
I begged the memories to last
So I'd remember you
At the corner of Sixth and Market
Where they tore the old tenaments down
The bench is still forgotten
And you're no longer around
I waved into the darkness
Where the memories all were found
I begged to hear your voice once more
But I heard the lonely sound
Seems love remains forgotten
Before it even knew
I begged the memories to last
So that I'd remember you
