Overloaded
By intense streams of joyousness
Feigned smiles
Fill the heart's great void

Living for a moment's bliss
Coming up short in the waning light
Where tears cease to fall
Dried in the ancient riverbed's sandy path

Swept away in love's great breeze
Floating away in the great lost worlds
Peace found, truth lost
Minds' precipitous cognitions rain down

Longing for new shores
Lost in the child's gaze
Angels sing a melancholy ballad of loss
Heart in the muddy wash
