Black

Beyond the gray raven's reach
Furrowing deeper into the cliff's crevasse
The tension built
As the fear was as heavy as the rocks
Heart beating so fast
In just an instant
It would beat its last beat
Thoughts even faster
WhyWhereWhenHowWhoWhat?
Pausing
For the blink of an eye
Of Peace
Sweet peace
For three heartbeats
Pierced by the shriek
Of the raven?
Confusion
Utter
The pain!
Shrieking!
It is I!
Come, sweet death!
Envelop ME!
Red covers my eyes
Removes the view
The heart has stopped
For an instant
The peace
Returns
And then
Bleak
Caress
Red
Black
