Simplicity of a Smile

May 10, 2006

As I sit in my room
I hear a small bird
Outside my window
She speaks to me
Of simplicity
Of the elegance of the song of love
Of the joy she feels in her heart
So much joy
That she must sing
Likewise
As I passed a man on the sidewalk
Walking home after a long day at work
I smiled at him
So much joy
That I must sing

To feel the love that is me, I must give love to thee...
To keep the smile and the glee, must give freely...

and, by the way... this works....
while typing this poem, i got two phone calls
both from friends i'll see in a bit at a meeting
and so... tonight... i choose to smile :D
