I went to the beach today. The waves were strong, the tide, high. I bought some caramel pecan fudge and some divinity. On the way home, stopped at Starbucks for some chai tea. I saw an attractive woman at the table across the way... and wrote this poem:
Passion fills the air
Knowing you're right there
Mind plays what might be
In a moment, sets love free
Flood the room, remove the space
Desire for a new embrace
Light the flames anew
Pleasing thoughts of you
But then you walk away
Tear born of dismay
What might have been
Was lost but then...
A new thought from intent
Candle not yet spent
Light the fire anew
Hope-filled dream of you
