reluctant hope

April 19, 2005

oh moment, so fleeting
receding, retreating
why must the wonderment fade like the dawn?

the light of the day brings a clarity that pains me
like the song of the butterfly, o ears in my mind
my heart longs for the notes of a beautiful find

the sweet cacophony of chaos begs me to stay
but walk toward the peace, is what i'll do this day

the painful tears of hope; love lingers, light fades
it ended as quickly as it began
a wonderful glimpse of a tenuous noise
