small hands
reaching out for comfort
too far away
too small
not good enough
small hands
clasped in prayer
searching for an answer
to the question just beyond the reach of my small mind
small hands
reaching for another
seeking comfort
seeking strength
just beyond my grasp
small hands
clenched
writhing
gnashing
gnarled
the chill is like ice
small hands
releasing all the burdens i was clenching
surrender
peace
finding the Hand of God
no longer suffering
no longer alone
small hands
holding the hands of others
resting in the Hand of God
calm
peace
loving
victims don't recover
I surrender all i was grasping for.
I surrender all the things i was holding onto.
My tight grip on all that i held, kept me from accepting the Hand of God.
I pray for the strength to let go.
