Something inside me went grey
Another part of me clinged desperately
To the loving peace that has been
My constant friend

Reminding myself
To breathe in the moment
To change in this instant
To persevere in love

Life’s little hardships
Cannot stop the journey
So long as I choose
To take one more step

The greyness will fade
Replaced by the hope
That stills my soul
That is still my firm intent

Today, I will take just one more step.
Today, I will choose hope.
