Confusion is Uncomfortable

February 7, 2009

The thick fog rises
From the warm waters of the bay
As the cold air moves in
And overtakes the night

Dark, cold, thick, empty
Pushing at the walls
Of the calm and ordered mind
Life stealing force pulls

This unpleasant morass
Trudging through the tar
Hot and thick with doubt and regret
Burns the lungs as we breathe deep

The morning brought renewal
Hope arrived on the bright rays
Sweet breezes comforted
A gentle walk cleared the mind

But a day of confusion
Clinging to the compelling fear
Desiring the mind’s lusts
Tore the hope from its home

The thick fog rises
From the warm waters of the bay
As the cold air moves in
And overtakes the night
