Life's Warmth

December 23, 2008

In a nearby coffee shop
Where you and I once shared moments of love
I sit alone
Wondering what went wrong

On the cusp of fresh tears
My eyes cloudy by the moisture
I seek the clarity
Of the knowing and peaceful Self
Deep within

A song I have never heard
Plays through the overhead speakers
She sings “I miss you”
And I know this song is for me

I take another sip
Coffee and chocolate, creamy and warm
And I ask my self to remember
That life will tomorrow be creamy and warm
Again
