Unmet Wonders

October 5, 2008

The brackish odor of moonlight
Steamed up from the depths
Pond of unmet wonders
Lost in a moment’s death

Wonder of tomorrow
She gasped in expectation
Delivered from the still waters
Promised great elation

Rode the boat of mystery
Rowing against the wind
Choosing to forge forward
No thought now rescind

The acrid smell of wanting
Hovered above the swells
Searching for the answers
Fleeing countless hells

Constant echoes sounding
Entered the hearing ear
Leaving yesterday’s memories
Holding new hope near

Rowing the boat of life
On a pond, both quiet and deep
Clinging to the moment
In her heart, now always keep
