Your Smile, Your Love

August 14, 2008

Waking from a bad dream
I am filled with great dread
It all dissipates
With a single look at you

Still sleeping like an angel
I gently kiss your cheek
Your love heals my soul
Wonder fills your dreams

A smile finds your lips
From the dream or from my kiss
The final vestiges of dimness fade
Your peace fills my heart with light

Carefully slipping out of bed
I tread down the hall
Thank God with each step
Remember him in each breath

Brewing a pot of coffee
More than enough for us both
Sharing everything I have
My love expands with each moment in you

Sharing life, each day
New joys and true gratitude
Flowing in great abundance
Your love is heaven sent
