Two Coins

July 26, 2008

With two new coins
I walked to the flowing waters
To the fountain of wishes
A coin for my lover and a coin for me

To be granted a wish
By the Lord of the Waters
Is a blessing of grace
To be sought with aplomb

I paused for a moment
And several moments more
Wondering what my lover would
desire
Seeking my lover's wish

"Peace" was the answer
That flowed from my heart
Peace in the lives
Of all that she touched

Approaching the fountain
Two pennies in hand
Two wishes I would ask for
Were one and the same

Peace
