New Century

April 23, 2008

Black century comes to its fateful end
Age of great turmoil and suffering
Plague of locusts and leaf and mud
Grasshopper hops into the new year

Purple and yellow flowers explode
As the season of change starts new
Time’s clock watched by the ten
Holding the universal change at bay

Forever began with a bold wink
From the young whippoorwill’s song
Bright and hopeful, looming large
Century of wisdom began with a wane

Moon is bright again this bold night
Magic settles in to the commonfolk
Mysteries solved by the rising mystic
Book of secrets told to one and all
