muffled words from a crowded street
song of serenading songbird
startled by a brief soft breeze

passages in an ancient tome
first words of a young growing babe
booming thunder from the sky
or still, small voice within

God’s messages arrive
to the wanting and willing child
listen as you walk today
pay heed as you find rest
