Asked and Received

April 6, 2008

Confident in his gaze, he takes her hand.
She is mesmerized in his power;
Natural or unnatural, she does not know.

She is lost in a whirlwind of turbulence.
Knowing feelings beyond any she could have,
In her past self, conceptualize or realize.

At once, she is imprisoned
In the strong arrogance of his presumptive
Grasp; at once, she surrenders, again.

She sees him as a strong tower;
She knows not that he is as lost…
And afraid and imprisoned…
As she is.

They share an instant of recognition,
As they fall deeper into their passionate
Embrace – this love, complete and present,
They asked for and received.
