New Ancient Glory

July 8, 2016

There may be sorrows, but there is also rain
There may be joys, but also pain
You may be sad, afraid, alone, angered, filled with dreadful fear
But in the quiet moments, you too have ears to hear

Cover not your light
But shine it on the world
The cure for fearful plight
Your brilliance now unfurled

Your mercies to be free
Are hard won and deserved
So hear the wailing plea
And do not be unnerved
But find your duty bound
Untie the knots that throng
Encouraged by the sound
Of holy angels’ song
And shine your brightest light
Your purpose and our need
As dusk turns over night
And all the world is freed
