I regret that I will continue on this
path I have blazed. I regret that I won’t,
can’t, change course. I regret that I
have chosen to believe that change
is impossible. Or imprudent.
I regret the lessons of momentum, that
the geometry of lines dictates the shortest distance
is a clear, unalterable, straight line.
I regret that I continue to refuse
to lay down my axe, to rest and consult a map.
I regret
that life is a destiny
of unconscious choosing.
