Birth of Poetry

July 2, 2016

Whisper your assent
Accompany me
As we ascend
To and through the blue-black heavens
As daylight slumbers
And dawn overtakes

Let us call upon the accompanists
Drink the homespun potion
Partake of the healthful garden
And fall through time’s ever end

Whisper your plea
Through moist lips parted
Embolden your heart
For it beats for our joining
Accelerates through each stanza
As blue-black falls away
And our touch fans the inferno
As you spread your waiting wonders
And beckon

Wait no longer
For ecstasies await
As poetry dawns
And love is given life
