a simple time

December 9, 2007

tell me of a simple time
where kindness gently persists
time of tradition and wholesomeness
hat boxes and cinnamon twists

tell me of a place of life
where joyful wonderment flows
town of homes and parks and swings
and lines to hang out clothes

show to me that grace still dwells
that hearts still always know
let's cover the picket fence again
with paint, white as fresh snow

tell me of a simple time
profound in fullness and love
serenade me once again
with angels from above
