New Moments, New Angels

September 22, 2007

Walking the lonely path today
I caught a glimmer of disconnected light
A moment of rest, eyes closed, did not, the light, vanquish

Barriers to one side, mystery on another
Choosing to not turn and return
To the place of comfort and familiar grace

Returning to the moment, startled again
The light had grown more present and bright
An angel was born in this brave new instant of change

Miracles, it seems, flee as I run
The greater gifts lie still ahead as I walk
Angels are among us today to accompany

Remembering yesterday I shed a small tear
Reliving yesterday, the fear is still here
Better, methinks, to move my thoughts to the angels now near
