Smitten...

Your blue eyes
Imprisoned
My willing heart

Never have I felt
The fires of the deepest red desires
As hot, blazing, PRESENT
As when our eyes first met

You touched my shoulder
Ripples
Of wanting, of wonder, of hope
Rose within me
Flooded me

My thoughts blurred
Perceptions made irrelevant

All that mattered
In that moment
Was the need
To touch you
Once again

My advances
Unacknowledged
My tears
Unshed
This love
Unfulfilled

And all that remains
Are memories
Blue eyes
Haunting smile
Healing touch
That after a moment
Of deep and memorable bliss
Was taken
As quickly as it was given
With the closing
Of your eyes
