A Random Starbucks

January 1, 2009

Grande
Cappuccino
An extra shot
Of piping hot
And dark
Espresso
Milk
Frothy
Light
Smooth
Fresh
Three shakes
From a glass shaker
Spice
Cinnamon
Stirred
Tasted
Mmmmm

Finding a table
At the random Starbucks
Halfway between here and there
We shared a smile when we saw the sign
Driving on a wet and dark highway
Toward a bright and sunny future
But not this night
This night
Though kind and loving
Is dark and dreary

We share a look out the window
As we take our seats
And I reach out and touch your hand
And I reach out and touch your heart
Gaze into your eyes
And take a sip
Of my Venti Raspberry Caffe Mocha
With two extra shots
Mmmmm

I say with my words
And with my eyes
And with my heart
“Thank you for this moment.”
“I love you, dear.”
“I love you.”
