Chapter 15
A Mass Awakening
Millions of spiritual creatures walk the earth
Unseen, both when we wake, and when we sleep. – John Milton
We know there is no time. We understand the truth that God, timeless, infinite, and forever, has no need for the limited concept of the constraints of time. Further, we know we are One with God. So in these two basic truths, that we are connected, truly and actually, to God, and that God suffers not the constraints of time, we know that we, too, can escape the perception of time and fully exist in the presence of the Love of God.
And yet, we continue to be bound by this illusion of time, in our beliefs of fear, of lack, of loss, of imperfection, to this perceived existence. There is no now. Now is but a measure of time, and we know that time does not exist. Nonetheless, here and now (in our limited minds' perception) is where we must approach God and God's higher truths: love, heaven, peace, and perfection. Now is both a measure of time and time's absence. In the simultaneous acceptance and release of Now is where we find the way to awakening.
There are many paths to Love, to Awareness – it must be so as we are each unique in our humanness – but each path has a common purpose. The goal of every path is an awareness of the Love that is within us. This awareness can be reached through forgiveness, through surrender, through acts of giving, through cleansing, through faith, through connecting with others, through practice, or some combination thereof. But the goal is the same: a deepening awareness of Love.
If we honor the similarities and the common goal of paths other than that path we have chosen, we will have no need to judge other paths, nor the people who have chosen to walk them. Each spiritual path serves its purpose to they that walk it. There are no mistakes. There is no error in this perfect and thriving universe we share. The more we accept life, as well as others, their choices, their thoughts, their perceptions of reality, and in the process, accept ourselves, the more we know peace, the more we see this world as perfect.
As we see the world and all the people we share it with as perfect, we see ourselves as perfect; as we see ourselves and all others as perfect, we see the world as perfect. This is the way to a mind of peace. This is the way to a world of peace.
It is time to let go of the small perceptions that held us back. We know there is no lack, no loss, no fear, and yet we continue to seek the comfort of these familiar beliefs. We know that judging another is also judging ourselves, and yet we allow ourselves to continue with eyes that see not truth and cause us pain. There is no pain; there is only Love. It's time to wake up. The time for justifications and rationalizations is past.
Knowing the truth and living the truth are two very different approaches with vastly different results. If I know about God, about heaven, about Love, and choose still to live in my thoughts of separateness, of fear, of captivity, of judgment, I am not living a life of love. We must step forward and show the world what it is to love. To understand is not enough; to speak words of love is not enough; we must live in the love that we know is the truth of our existence.
The world is opening up like never before. Borders are fading as global communication becomes readily accessible to increasing numbers of people. We now, more than ever before, have the opportunity to show others the way of love, awareness, peace, and bliss.
But we cannot teach what we do not live. If I teach that it is not loving to judge, and then I judge, the lesson becomes valueless. If I show others how to transcend fears, yet then I share with the world my fears, none will have faith in my message.
Love is not contentious. Love is not fearful. Love is not dramatic nor chaotic. Love is not unwell. Love does not judge. Thus, if I share with the world contention, fear, drama, chaos, sickness, or my judgments, I am not sharing love with the world. The only way to peace is through love. If we truly want peace, we must allow our unloving thoughts, words, and actions to cease. Love is the answer; love is the key; love is the way.
The Internet, the pervasiveness of cell phones, computers, and other technology advancements, readily available to much of the world, have created an opportunity never before available. We have an opportunity to teach the world the way of love. When we recognize that the people we are connected to through social networks and other forms of communication are every bit as real as we are, we can begin to see the power of these new media.
We are one. Whether living in the same household, down the street, or halfway around the world, we are one. When we accept this and live accordingly, we will be fully loving to everyone we come in contact with, whether physically or not. What an amazing opportunity we have!
As we are all connected, at the level of spirit, in the higher truth of formlessness, in the oneness of Love, each act of kindness, of peace, of service, each and every act, no matter how large or small, affects in a positive way the shared consciousness that is our very essence. As we are all unique, as perfect extensions of the universal oneness, we each have unique and necessary gifts to share. We, each and every one of us, regardless of our level of awareness, contribute to the love and peace that is our highest reality.
Each soul we touch in a loving way is healed, sometimes subtly, sometimes more obviously at our level of awareness. Every single act of love contributes to the peace that is our highest calling. It all matters.
We have the choice in each perceived moment to contribute to or to subtract from the pervasive peace that is arising in the world. Each time we peaceably dismiss a thought that is less than fully loving, that correction contributes to the one world peace that is our deepest and truest conviction. At the core of each of us is perfect love. Aligning our thoughts and actions to that perfect core of love brings us both individually and collectively to the truth of our essence, to the perfect and utter peace that is who we are.
Love beckons. Peace awaits. Be love. Know peace.
